His work tackles profound themes such as the place of human beeings in front of the technologies they developed all that imprinted with melancholy, poetry and marked by the basset hound figure.
This site is designed by a fan for the fans, so the passions unleashed by Mamoru Oshii's films can find a place to meet.

Mamoru Oshii is the script writer of Kenta Fukasaku's next film: Elle is Burning. He also said in an interview at the Tokyo Film Festival that after Tachiguishi Retsuden, he is going to go back to animation with a love story film. Oshii-San seems to be in a changing mood.

The official website for Oshii's next film Tachiguishi Retsuden is online. Nothing much to see yet. Here it is: http://www.tachiguishi.com
It's a live-action adaptation of Mamoru Oshii's novel and it's going to cast Mako Hyôdô as lead role (she gave her voice to the girl in Tenshi no Tamago). The film will also feature unsuspected actors such as Kenji Kawai (Oshii's faithful music composer), Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (the I of Production IG), Katsuya Terada (character deisgner on Blood) and Toshio Suzuki (co-producer of Innocence for Studio Ghibli) and there is probably going to be more known faces. It goes without say, Tachiguishi Retsuden is a comedy...

I added a new element in the dog's paw section (chapter 4: visual representations) about one of Mamoru Oshii's way to shoot conversations.

Thanks to MikE's translations, I could improve the bibliography section. I added a few books and a lot of covers. I also found the name of Mamoru Oshii's first film, the story told in photographs I talk about in the biography section. It seems to be called Okujô (On the Roof). I also corrected a lot of spelling mistakes and typos. And I tried to fix the compatibility issues with Firefox browsers. The font size is now better.
